What are some interesting startups in supply chain/logistics?

Imagine you scan a barcode of a random product in your groceries and instantly see every company in the supply chain that processed it. You can also track the product back directly to the producer and verify its origin.

Currently, the process of tracing back a product’s origin may last days or weeks. With daily discoveries of product defects just in United States, this is one of the biggest problems in the supply chain industry. Read more about food traceability inefficiencies here: Chicken, farm and blockchain.
Blockchain (the technology behind Bitcoin) has a potential to tackle the main challenges which limit the fluent exchange of, and integrity of data in product supply chains and contribute to much faster food traceability.
Blockchain companies such as OriginTrail, Vechain, Waltonchain are actively working on blockchain solutions addressing the food traceability problems. Walmart — the biggest retailer in United States —has recently awarded an European company OriginTrail for its blockchain supply chain protocol which, in essence, enables customers to verify the provenance of every item sold on the platform and the local producers to transparently communicate the state of the package among all stake holders in the supply chain.
