How easy is it for tourists to get a job in Canada?
I see you’re in Zambia so I’m going to answer based on that. I am going to assume you are trying to get a job in Canada by applying from outside Canada but are not in Canada looking for a job.
The answer is: it is VERY difficult if not impossible. This has nothing to do with you or your skills or the job you are seeking. It is because of employment regulations in Canada.
Employment regulations in Canada DO NOT ALLOW an employer to offer a job to someone outside Canada without first PROVING that no one in Canada can do that job.
This requires extensive advertising and an application for a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). To obtain an LMIA, the employer must advertise the position widely for at least month and then wait an additional two months for processing. In addition to advertising costs, the employer must pay $1,100 in processing fees.
Even if the employer applies for an LMIA, if Employment and Social Development Canada believes there are Canadians that can do the job - it will not be granted.
If it is granted, the employer must also wait for the potential employee’s paperwork to be processed and for the potential employee to arrive in Canada, which could take from 1 to 5 years. The job must be offered for at least one year after the incoming candidate is approved.
Do you see why no one gets a job offer from Canada? It doesn’t happen. With lots of well-educated and well-trained and experienced workers available in Canada, employers have no reason to look outside the country - especially when it costs so much time and money. Therefore, most do not even look at applications from outside Canada.
The only exception would be someone with a very unusual, world class skill set that doesn’t exist in Canada - and remember that Canada’s work force is highly educated with 53% holding post-secondary degrees.
As for getting a work permit for Canada… in order to get a work permit, you must have a job offer from a Canadian employer, usually with an LMIA included in your application. So - see note above about how difficult this is to achieve.
Most people who want to immigrate to Canada do so by applying to immigrate, getting accepted, and then hunting for a job.
WARNING - there are many scammers who target people who want to come to Canada. They will claim anything to get your money. Truth is - Canada’s immigration system is straightforward, points-based, and if you get enough points in the assessment, you are invited to immigrate.
That’s all there is to it. There are no shortcuts or secret methods.

I’m adding one more comment because the question I originally answered was about foreigners finding a job in Canada and did not mention a tourist visa. Quora did a merge so the question no longer matches my response.
Therefore, if you come to Canada with a tourist visa, you are not legally able to work in Canada. Period. So the answer is: impossible.
